Softdesk 8 bearing labeling problem

When labeling bearings and distances on lot lines in Softdesk 8 we get garbled bearings, but the distance is always comes out fine.

Lot line text should look like this:
100.00'
N 32°15'08" W

Instead we get something like this:
100.00'
N0õzôòW

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem? It would be nice to actually use the labeling function built in to Softdesk, but with the way the bearing labels give us problems we just can't use it and have to do it manually.

Have you tried using a different text style before labelling? Or does Softdesk use a unique style, maybe that font file is missing or corrupt.

If that doesn't work, rather than manually label you could use a lisp routine. I've seen a few at Cadalyst.

Softdesk allows you to choose which text style you want to use for your bearing text. I am using the same text style for the length and the bearing, so I don't think that is the problem unless there is some obscure setting that isn't right.

I downloaded a lisp routine from Cadalyst that seems to work pretty good. Thanks for mentioning it.
