autosnap turned on but not snapping!!

i have autosnap turned on but it wont snap. how do i rectify this? i have just reinstalled cad so i am not sure why this is happening.

what is Your "autosnap" value? I have 55.

no need to stress... i worked it out.. it wasnt turned on for the snapping that i wanted!
