I was working on a drawing when suddenly my PC went off. By the time I restarted the PC and wanted to continue my work on the file I had this error message, "Unhandled access violation at 413180h" and the file refused to open. How can I re-open the file?

Hopefully :?: you have a recent .bak file .. rename that one to .dwg ..

otherwise i hope you have you're automatic save .. .sv$ .. rename that one to .dwg ..

Thanks so much YosSa.
Though what I rather have is acad.err and acadstk.dmp files. Not .bak or .sv$ files. So I'm still not able to open the files.
I have tried using recovery, but it said file cannot be recovered.

you should have an automatic save, or otherwise, the interval isnt set right ... just checkout tje pdf file i attached ...

In pic1 you c the directorys where the temp files should be ..
2nd pic shows what extension it should have (could be sv$ or ac$) and the time between the automatic saves.

Just to further add to YosSa's suggestion ... about the *.BAK and *.SV$ ....

I would go to "My Computer" ....
double click on the "C" drive ....
then hit "F3" .... for search ...
type in ....

*.BAK

...and hit search.

once done.
If nothing ....

type in ....

*.SV$

...and hit search.

once done.
If nothing ....

repeat the same steps for other drives ..... "D" ... "F" ... "G" .... etc...

Hope that helps.
