In previous versions of AutoCAD, when you made a comand and hit the
up key it would scroll through all the previous inputs. For example if i
moved an abject 500000mm dirctly up and then wanted to move another
item the same distance up, i could select the object when move command
is active and press the up key this would then bring up the
500000 that i typed earlier, thus saving the effort of re-typing.
Why is this gone in the AutoCAD 2007 version and is there a setting
i can change to have it back??

Hi,
Though I have AutoCAD 2006 version, I suggest you to check the following variable "INPUTHISTORYMODE". As picked from Help files:
INPUTHISTORYMODE System Variable
Saved in: Registry
Initial value: 15
Controls the content and location of the display of a history of user input.
The setting is stored as a bitcode using the sum of the following values:
0 - No history of recent input is displayed
1 - History of recent input is displayed at the command line or in a dynamic prompt tooltip with access through Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys
2 - History of recent input for the current command is displayed in the shortcut menu
4 - History of recent input for all commands in the current session is displayed in the shortcut menu
8 - Markers for recent input of point locations are displayed in the drawing
