Loss of Mouse Zoom Function

I am running LT97(WinNT4.0) with a MS Intellimouse wheel mouse. After having a mouse fail, I have lost wheel zoom and cannot re-establish it. Mouse software has been reloaded and a fresh Intellimouse mouse installed. I ASSUME this is an OS or mouse problem and there is not something in LT97 I have failed to set or reset. Any suggestions?
