97 To 2006 Converting

We Just Got Autocad Lt 2006. We Were On Lt 97 And I Can Not Open Any Of My Files And Dont Know How To Convert Them. Please Help.

Lt2006 should just open the file directly, no conversion should be required....Are you getting any error messages during the opening process ??

If so can you post the errors

The Message: Drawing File "created By An Incompatible Version Of Autocad Lt."

Ah OK that clarifies everything, drawings created/saved in LT2006 can not be opened in earlier versions so the drawing has to be saved as an earlier version from LT2006 ... you'll find that when you choose SAVE AS the File Type drop down can set to ealier versions...

thanks for the info cause i did'nt know that either but my problem now is how to open the OLD DRAWINGS from acad 97 in acad 2006.
