Hola y'all! How are ya? Everyone down south (US) doing ok? Can y'all hear meeeeeee???????
:D
OK, here's what's going on. My office just moved to a new office building over the weekend. I think we were destined for doom from the start. First of all, we were supposed to move in May, then in June, then all of a sudden in Aug, then they were afraid they were going to have to move it to Sept, but our previous space had been rented out & we couldn't stay past last week. All right, we can deal with that, right? Here's the second issue.......last Thurs morning, we were only issued a freaking TEMPORARY certificate of occupancy because the stupid fire extinguisher people hung up an almost EMPTY loaner extinguisher until we moved out on Fri. City inspector got us for that. Needless to say, after our extinguishers were moved on Fri, it was full!!!!! Sheesh! Third........we shut down our office on Thurs afternoon to pack up, which went very well.......then twitboss came in around 4pm & said that NONE of our workspaces were even up yet! The movers would be at our old office Fri morning at 8 to start loading their truck. *sigh* Well, I guess things got loaded & moved ok on Fri, but here's where it all went to "poopy"......
Our new office was broken into on Fri night.........took almost all of our computers, monitors, laptops, a drill.......etc. I think you get the picture. So, Sat morning, instead of unpacking our office & workspaces (BTW, we all had Fri off), they were filing police reports, drafting letters for pawn shops, etc. Here's the part that tells you what type of city I work in (NO, I don't live there).........the idiot officers who showed up on Sat morning had done their rounds on Fri night, had noticed ALL the gosh-darn lights on, no cars in the lot & DIDN'T DO A (insert expletive) THING!!!!!!!!! :o WTF!!!!!!!!
Maybe it's just me, but I'm beginning to think that any time I'm involved in a move, something is BOUND to go wrong! At least our IT dudes were able to scrounge up computers for today, but most everyone spent a good chunk of their day reloading everything! Oh yes, & the contractors were STILL putting up the remaining workspaces today......including moving MINE while I was in it! THAT was interesting.......
OK, done being chatty..........for now........
:D
