having no luck ploting drawings, have updated to a new machine operating Windows XP service pack 2 and using Autocad 2005 with ADT 3.3
since this have not been able to plot any drawings i create in Autocad 2005 format, need to save as 2000 and plot from another computer, everyone but me operating less than Autocad 2005.
can see drawing, all view ports no problems with plot preview only when it goes through process of regen and sending to ploter comes up with error to close plot process. (plotter Hp designjet 500 on network ). 1 solution offered was to switch off plot log in plot setup this has not worked anyone any ideas before plotter & computer end up out window.

Sounds like you need to convert your CTB files from AutoCAD 2000 to AutoCAD 2005.

Just double click on the CTB files and open & save to 2005.
You will need to save 2 sets of CTBs.
One fore AutoCAD 200 and one for AutoCAD 2005.

Good luck and let me know if that doesn't work.

Remember if the drawing is set to plot bylayer (ie using STB plotstyles) then you can use convertpstyles to convert the drawing from using STB's to using CTB plotstyle OR use convertctb to convert the plotstyle from CTB to STB..

Hope this helps in someway

I found this information on the HP site.
try setting the FULLPLOTPATH = 0, this might cure the problem. there is a known problem between AutoCAD and HP plotters where the length of the filename gets too big as it includes the full path, this variable sends just the filename part. the same problem occurs in AutoCAD 2005, but the only solution for that so far has been to go back to earlier drivers for the HP

Hope it helps.
