Well....I tried everything I know. I still cannot get the PROJECT MANAGER window to go away. I can close it...but it just re-appears after every command. This occurs at start-up of autocad, and after every command.

This may have something to do with "vault" (whatever that is). I have tried numerous suggestions...and the ACAD help screen offers no solution. Due to this (and many other headaches), I have decided to keep my v2004 and pass on upgrading to v2006. There is simply too much extra BS clouding what used to be a logical, user-friendly package.

I guess there are some users that need all this "stuff"....but I have spent an enormous amount of time just trying to "turn-off" all the extra, goofy functions that come on v2006 when you load it.

Thanks to those that tried to help me.

CJ: The name of the game is: "Add a whole bunch of stuff that a few people whine about or deem as 'nice to have'".

The rationale for "improving" the software is to justify charging more for it.

Don't read me wrong, there have been some features added over the years that are very helpful but there are also many "gee whiz" things added that are mainly useful in drawing attention to your booth at the trade shows.

I've seen a few discussions of the very issue you have brought up and I recall some number like 10 per cent. This is the precentage of the total number of commands and features available that the average user actually invokes doing work.

Users are people and each will find their little set of "comfort commands" and occasionally use something more esoteric if necessary.

Not much help but a fact of cadd life.
