8) Are there any menus across the top ?
If not then try reloading the acad.mnu file, use menuload to do so

8) Type menuload into the command prompt then browse for acad.mnu under support directory of your autocad installation.

Eddie,

I think You are wrong.
acad.mnu-> acad.cui in 2006

Annie (what's Your first language?), I think You can type "cui", and the browse to the files...

I am facing the same problem.
after installation of acad2006 I see only 4 menus File, view, window and help.
With menuload command I can brows the acad.cui file but when I try to load it nothing happens. If fact it does not get loaded.

I am trying this on XP with SP2. But I could install acad2006 successfully on win2000.

Any clue ?

Apparently this is a common problem.

I have been told there is a patch on the AutoCAD site to resolve this issue, but unfortunatly I don't know where nor do I have a link, as mine was fine, so I haven't looked it up.

Hope this was of some help?!

This from the autodesk website...

When starting AutoCAD most menus not loaded

Published date: 2005-10-10
ID: TS1051850

Applies to:
AutoCADŽ 2006

Issue

When starting AutoCAD, most of the AutoCAD-specific menus are not loaded. When you try to manually load the menus, the message *invalid* is returned on the command line.

Solution

This can be the result of the msxml3.dll file becoming unregistered.

To register this file in Windows, go to Start > Run and enter regsvr32 msxml3.dll. Then restart AutoCAD.
